Cistus, or the Rose of Sharon, is one of the most healing essential oils mentioned many times in the Bible. Here, it is in full bloom this August in the gardens of our Catskill Mountain healing center. Rose of Sharon is special for me because it grows over my father's grave in a cemetery back where I grew up.
